AI+VR Webinar Concludes Successfully

On January 20, 2026, the online seminar titled "AI+VR Empowering the Digital and Intelligent Development of Higher Education in Nigeria," jointly organized by UNESCO-ICHEI, KMAX and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Nigeria, was successfully held. The event attracted representatives from over 10 universities in Nigeria, who discussed the deep integration of cutting-edge technology and higher education.


The seminar aimed to introduce cutting-edge AI+VR educational technologies to Nigerian universities, helping them overcome bottlenecks in teaching resources and methodologies while enhancing the quality of education in key disciplines such as medicine, engineering and agriculture. It also sought to build a communication bridge between UNESCO-ICHEI, KMAX and Nigerian universities, share global experiences in the application of AI+VR in education, and promote the collaborative sharing of educational resources across regions.

The seminar was hosted by Mr. SIT Fung, Assistant Director of UNESCO-ICHEI and Chief of the IIOE Management Centre, who extended a warm welcome to all participating institutions and emphasized the shared mission of promoting educational equity through technological innovation.

In his opening remarks, Mr. August Cui, Vice President of KMAX, reviewed the collaborative journey with UNESCO-ICHEI and ABU and extended special congratulations on the successful launch of KMAX VR solutions at ABU. He stated that this initiative would significantly contribute to the digital transformation of Nigerian universities and expressed KMAX's honour to contribute to its "AI+VR" solutions.

Prof. Muhammad Bashir Mu'azu, Director of the Distance Learning Centre at ABU, delivered a keynote speech. He highlighted that KMAX's VR resources had already been integrated into specific undergraduate courses and programs, particularly in disciplines requiring intensive practical training, such as medicine and engineering, benefiting 237 students. He emphasized that VR technology allows students to engage in immersive learning and training within safe, repeatable, and cost-effective virtual environments, which is crucial for deepening theoretical understanding and developing practical skills.

Showcase on the Collaboration between Ahmadu Bello University and KMAX


Ms. Shirley Zheng, Sales Director of KMAX's Overseas Business Department, then conducted a technical sharing session, providing a detailed introduction to KMAX's AI+VR teaching resources, tools, and their extensive applications in vocational education and international cooperation. She specifically shared case studies of KMAX's collaboration with UNESCO-ICHEI in providing comprehensive digital education solutions featuring "advanced hardware and rich courseware" to developing countries in Asia and Africa.

The successful conclusion of this seminar marks a significant step forward in UNESCO-ICHEI and KMAX's efforts to support the digital transformation of higher education in Nigeria and across Africa. It also heralds a new chapter in cultivating high-quality technical talent through collaborative endeavours.
