UNESCO Category II Centres Consult on the Futures of Education — UNESCO-ICHEI Participated in the 6th Meeting of UNESCO Category II Centres
On 24 Feburary 2022, the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) attended the 6th Meeting of UNESCO Category II Centres, co-hosted by the UNESCO Regional Centre for Qualiity (RCQE) and UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in the Arab States. The UNESCO-ICHEI was the only category II Centre from China invited to participate in the meeting.
Director LI Ming said that since its establishment in 2015, UNESCO-ICHEI has developed a global network with the mission of empowering the digital transformation of higher education in developing countries to achieve quality and equitable education, and has carried out projects such as the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE), Smart Classroom, Capacity Building Seminars and the "3+2" Research project on Digital Transformation of Higher Education.
He said that UNESCO-ICHEI is willing to work with UNESCO headquarters, regional offices, Category I Institutes and Category II Centres around the world for further dialogue and close cooperation, contributing to realising Sustainable Development Goal 4 by ensuring that the work of UNESCO-ICHEI is aligned with the objectives of UNESCO's Medium-Term Strategy 2022-2029.
